HAPPY CANADA DAY...

Greetings from the
'Island Stewarts'

TJ and Chelsey arrived on Friday nite late for the weekend. Yesterday we have a busy and full day. We started out our day by getting up early, having a healthy breakfast and it was off to the Farmers Market.

It was such fun - Chelsey wasn't there 2 minutes and she was checkin out all the goodies in the stalls. We are expecting Chris to do the same when him and Katie come for their holiday. haha

We bought farm fresh eggs, home made bread, yumm .. and this picture is taken looking at the truck that sells BISON. We bought some steak for supper and some edible flowers and lettuce. Oh, and don't forget the Tomales. A young family from Mexico who recently moved to Comox Valley are regulars at market now. They sell the Tomales, and different salsas. Oh my, are they ever good.

After market we went to the lot and did some serious chainsaw work.. TJ and Chelsey each had a lesson and had some chances to cut with the saw. I wish I had taken pictures of them. Darn it.

After coming home and cleaning up we drove to the Griffon Pub right at the end of the runway at the Comox Air Base.

Lunch was hilarious - one big 'high fat fest'. We ordered all the deep fried appys on the menu and shared them. Oh man - that was good. We sat outside hoping to see some planes doing some flybys.

After our delicious dinner we went for a 'deer hunt'. haha That mean get in the car and go looking for deer sightings. Chelsey had the best eyes. She was spotting them non-stop. We saw them on peoples front lawns chewing their shrubs etc. Babies and their moms.

When we got home we walked over to the big house and sat around a campfire with Bill and Dororthy (our landlords) for awhile. It was a great, great day. Next year we want to go the Canada Day parade.
